WICKED Returns in Grand Fashion

By all accounts, WICKED has returned to the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in grand fashion. And by grand fashion, we mean the Tony Award®-winning costumes designed by Susan Hilferty.

Using more than 7,000 fabrics in hand-crafted couture pieces designed down to the smallest sequins, Hilferty helped create the iconic images of Glinda's stunning ball gown and Elphaba's striking black hat that add layer upon layer to the theatrical land of Oz. Whether it is your first time experiencing WICKED or your 50th, the magic is there in every performance, in every detail onstage.

If you want to see these amazing costumes come to life, WICKED will be playing at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center tonight through February 20. Tickets are still available through the Fox Cities P.A.C. ticket office and ticketmaster.com!

Wicked at the Fox Cities P.A.C.

I find it difficult to sum up in a few words how great Wicked was.  Awesome, spectacular, moving, powerful, incredible, hilarious and amazing all come to mind.

Everything I believed, as a child, to be true about OZ has just been turned upside down.  This show takes you on a journey of twists, turns and surprises from the opening scene to the jaw dropping, tear provoking ending, as the "true" story of OZ is revealed.

I encourage you all to put aside some time, grab a loved one, buy your tickets and experience the amazing vocal talents that Wicked has to offer. Keep your eyes open for a cameo appearance from Dorothy and never count out the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion.

Enjoy the show, and I encourage your feedback.

Spend Valentine's Day with the Cast and Crew of WICKED

This week green and gold are the primary colors, but let’s add a splash of pink and red in time for Valentine’s Day. On Monday, February 14, the National Touring Company of WICKED will host Our WICKED Romance – A Jazz Cabaret in the Center’s intimate Kimberly-Clark Theater. It’s a rare chance for the cast and crew to step out of their WICKED roles and raise some money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the mission-based programs at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.

Plus, you can take home a piece of WICKED with both live and silent auctions of WICKED memories and memorabilia from flying monkey masks to a Glindified prize package, backstage access and even the chance to perform in the cast of WICKED in a Fox Cities walk-on role! Beware of Third Party Ticket Brokers!

As the calendar flips closer to 2011 and WICKED’s return engagement at the Fox Cities P.A.C. January 26 – February 20, there’s something third party ticket brokers don’t want you to know. The Fox Cities P.A.C. and Ticketmaster have the tickets you want and are the only authorized sellers for WICKED in the Fox Cities. Plus, tickets are still available for all shows!

Top Three Reasons To Avoid Third Party Tickets
1) YOUR TICKETS AREN’T GUARANTEED
Brokers make no guarantees, and the Fox Cities P.A.C. can do nothing if your tickets are lost or stolen if you purchase them from a third party. Brokers have even been known to sell fake tickets. When you buy them through the Fox Cities P.A.C. Ticket Office or Ticketmaster, the Center has a record of your purchase.

2) YOU’LL PAY MORE
Brokers know when tickets are a hot commodity, and they’ll hike the price to make a profit. It’s not uncommon for brokers to charge double or even triple the face value of a ticket as the event approaches.

3) YOU WON’T BE IN THE LOOP
What if there’s a special opportunity for WICKED ticket holders or an update regarding your ticket? If you purchase your tickets through the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center or Ticketmaster, you’ll be in the loop for any updates regarding your tickets. Keep your e-mail address and phone number up to date for the latest information!

Visit foxcitiespac.com for details, and purchase your tickets to WICKED today before you get swept up in the holidays!

About the Editor – Kari Navis
In my third year at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, I’m thrilled to be a part of this organization and the performing arts in the Fox Cities. Officially, I serve as the organization’s copywriter. Unofficially, I’m the resident language geek and social media manager. I’ve been a fan of the arts since I was four years old and first saw Fiddler on the Roof in a tiny high school auditorium with my (now) sister-in-law cast as the fiddler. Of course, she was the only person in town that could play the violin. I love the arts and creative people, traveling, “Mad Men” and riding my horse and making the trek back home to see the family whenever I can.
